An Arabidopsis leaf expressionEPF1promoter-erGFPin the stomatal guard cells of stomatal precursors. Stomata are nor formed in contact, which may contribute to efficient gas exchange. EPF1 is a secretory peptide that inhibits as a lateral inhibitory molecule, which inhibits formation of clustered stomata.
